At FHS, we address the needs of all students through culturally relevant prevention and intervention programs as a component of a comprehensive school counseling program. Our program offers a research based, data driven guidance curriculum, responsive services, individual student planning, and system support to create a multi-faceted approach to counseling. In addition, we implement tiered strategies to address both immediate and preventative student needs. Through campus-wide awareness, collaboration, and effective implementation, we strive to make FHS a welcoming environment for all students.
Emergency Mental Health Numbers

Academic Counseling
The FHS school counselor is available to assist students in planning for their academic future and career development including choosing electives, discussing options for high school endorsement pathways, planning for Honors classes, tutorial schedules, and more.
Personal Counseling
From time to time, students may need extra support with personal concerns, such as social, family, emotional or mental health issues, immediate crisis needs, or substance abuse. The school counselor is available to provide students support in these areas. Referrals to outside agencies including TCHATT, MHMR, HOTCADA, in-patient crisis intervention programs, and religious or private practice counselors are available if additional counseling services are needed.
Screening Tools
Sometimes, in addition to general inquiries into a student’s well-being, school personnel might determine that a student needs some additional observation and perhaps specific services in relation to the student’s mental, emotional, or physical health or well-being. Any tools that may be utilized with your student to identify if further mental health services are necessary can be found here:
