Planning & Design in Progress
Updated April 2026
Fairfield ISD continues to move forward with the design of the new Fairfield High School, the centerpiece of Bond 2025. The district is working closely with Claycomb Associates to ensure every part of the new campus supports student success.
The Fairfield ISD Board of Trustees has also approved Pogue Construction as the Construction Manager At Risk for the district’s Bond 2025 projects.
Collaborative Planning Sessions
Throughout the design process, Fairfield ISD staff and administrators have participated in ongoing planning sessions with Claycomb Associates. Teachers, administrators, and program directors have worked directly with architects to discuss instructional needs, classroom flow, equipment placement, safety, and accessibility.
Early planning focused on gathering input from teachers across departments, including program locations and how the overall layout of the building could best support instruction and collaboration.
As design work has progressed, meetings have become more program specific, with discussions centered on interior layouts, functionality, and how each space will support its intended purpose. Recent conversations have also included kitchen and culinary arts equipment, security camera placement, and door hardware throughout the campus. Each phase of planning helps shape a learning environment designed around how our students learn, create, and grow.
Design Progress Update
Jeffery Floyd, Director of Design and Principal with Claycomb Associates, has presented ongoing design concepts and development updates for the new Fairfield High School to the Fairfield ISD Board of Trustees.
The new Fairfield High School is currently in the final stages of design at approximately 65 percent complete. The project will soon move into the next phase, with final bids scheduled for June 4.
Campus Improvements Across the District
While design work continues for the new high school, several campus updates are moving forward as part of Bond 2025.
At Fairfield Elementary, construction will begin immediately after the school year ends. Planned improvements include a new secure vestibule at the front entrance, along with new awnings at the front of the building and on the east side to improve the car rider pickup area. These projects are expected to be completed by early August in time for the start of school.
At Fairfield Junior High, recent updates include refreshed interior spaces with new paint and ceiling tiles in common areas, along with new athletic lockers installed to support student athletes and programs.
What’s Next
Sitework for the new Fairfield High School is scheduled to begin in early July. Construction is expected to take approximately two years.
Our goal remains to open the new Fairfield High School in August 2028, just in time for the start of the school year.
Fairfield ISD appreciates the continued support of our community as we move forward with these projects and invest in the future of our students.
