Construction Updates

Planning & Design in Progress

Fairfield ISD is moving forward with the design of the new Fairfield High School, the centerpiece of Bond 2025. The district continues to work closely with Claycomb Associates to ensure every part of the new campus supports student success.

The Fairfield ISD Board of Trustees has also approved Pogue Construction as the Construction Manager At-Risk (CMAR) for the district’s Bond 2025 projects.

Collaborative Planning Sessions

Over the past several months, Fairfield ISD staff and administrators have participated in a series of planning meetings with Claycomb Associates. During each meeting, teachers and program directors collaborated directly with architects to discuss the specific needs of their spaces, from classroom flow and equipment placement to safety and accessibility. Every conversation and adjustment is helping shape a learning environment that reflects how our students learn, create, and grow.

We have met with the architects about five different times throughout this process. They gathered input from teachers in the various departments at the high school and worked hard to make sure all the features and spaces our programs need are included. The most recent meetings have focused on where these different programs will be placed and how the layout and flow of the building best support instruction and collaboration.

Design Refinement & Schematic Layout

Following these sessions, Jeffery Floyd, Director of Design and Principal with Claycomb Associates, presented the schematic design of the new high school to the Fairfield ISD Board of Trustees. The design reflects collaboration between teachers, campus administrators, and district leaders across multiple departments.

Schematic drawings will be available to share soon, and we know our community is eager to see what’s ahead for Fairfield ISD.

Campus Improvements Across the District

While design work continues for the new high school, several campus updates have already been completed or are in progress as part of Bond 2025 planning.

This summer, Fairfield Junior High received refreshed interior updates, including newly painted common areas and replacement of ceiling tiles to brighten and modernize shared spaces.

At Fairfield Elementary, administrators have met with Claycomb Associates to discuss plans for adding new awnings at the front of the building and on the east side of the campus for car rider pickup. In addition, a new security vestibule will be added to the campus entrance to enhance student safety.

What’s Next

Site surveyors are finishing reports that will guide the next steps in the design process.

Sitework is projected to begin this summer, with construction expected to take about two years.

Our goal remains to open the new Fairfield High School in August 2028, just in time for the start of the school year.

Fairfield ISD is grateful for our community’s continued support and excitement as we take these important steps toward building for the future.
